In September 1983, a small band of pioneers decided to create a running and jogging club in order to participate in the many races and fun runs being organised at that time.

Club colours were chosen as blue and white. Tuesday evenings were picked as the training night with discussions held afterwards to decide how to reduce the 10 minutes per mile figure.

Creda running club was born and began to flourish.  Even at this early stage fund raising was used to help the less fortunate in our area.

In 1984 the first Creda 5 mile road race was organised to raise funds for the Rheumatoid Arthritis council.

1985 saw the inception of the Creda 10km road race and fun run which surpassed all expectations and continued to be the main event for many years raising in excess of £13000 for local hospitals, charities and individuals.
Seeking recognition for what was regarded by the running media as firmly established as a well organised road race, we applied successfully for our 10km road race to be included as a North Staffs Road Runners Association race.  Diversity is an integral part of our yearly program of events incorporating weekly training sessions on a Tuesday and Sunday mornings for all runners including joggers, cross country runners and long distance runners. We also hold social events throughout the year.
Recently we changed our name to “Blythe Bridge Running Club” as the headquarters are based in the complex formally owned by Creda Ltd on Grindley Lane, Blythe Bridge.

Whether it’s your intention to keep fit, lose weight or compete as a runner we welcome all members male and female of any adult age.
